golden globes: best & worst

Here are my best & worst looks from the Golden Globes! I definitely loved more than I hated. Actually, my list of people who I thought looked fab could go on & on. Who were your favs?!

BEST
Sofia Vergara
Wow! Vegara had my favorite look of the night. I was literally speechless when I first saw her. She knows what works for her and sticks to it.

Reese Witherspoon
Witherspoon just looks great all around. Her haircut is extremely flattering and the green of the dress matches her eyes perfectly.

Olivia Wilde
This is one pregnant woman who knows how to work it. The sequins don't look tacky and the green works amazing with her eyes and hair. I can't think of anything that would make this look better.

Margot Robbie
This newcomer definitely gained some spotlight at the Globes. Her gown is so elegant and the embellishment eliminates the need for any jewelry.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum
Besides the fact that she probably doesn't have an ounce of fat on her body. The structure of Tatum's dress is completely form flattering. The black detail breaks up the simplicity of the white dress.

WORST
Drew Barrymore
I have to say that Barrymore's makeup is on point, but I can't say I love the dress. It just needed to have a tad more shape to not make my worst dressed list.

Paula Patton
This dress is just completely overwhelming. If Patton had gotten rid of that side fluff, the dress would have been perfection with her slim figure.

Sandra Bullock
I just don't like this, but I can't exactly pin point what I don't like. It may be that it's not something I would imagine Bullock in, or the clashing cotton candy pink and blue.

Heidi Klum
Klum is one for taking fashion risks, but this is a risk that just didn't work. The choker with the tacky flowers on the dress is just too much.

style sunday

Lately I have been really into wearing ankle length jeans with heeled black booties. I feel like these pieces together look effortless and you can create multiple looks based off of them. In the below look, I dressed it down with a basic tee and simple accessories. This look is great for running errands on the weekends and is understatedly cool.

New Year's Eve

Hi All,
New Year's Eve is just around the corner & it's time to find that perfect outfit. When I think of NYE, I think of sequins, but that doesn't mean you need to have a full sequin outfit. There are different alternatives to incorporating sequins into your look. Although, I am drawn to black, it's also fun to wear colors, like orchid, the color of 2014. Below are some of my favorite looks to ring in the new year. Enjoy!

christmas nails

hellllllo!

It's Christmas time--so I had to do some festive nails. Some times it is hard for me to do to the traditional red and green holiday nails because it's not really my style, so I did a different color palette of green, gold, & black. I think it still looks holiday-esque…of course Rudolph helps!  Don't be afraid to try something that is maybe a little out of the box because you may like how it comes out…just like this mani!

outfit of the week

I used to post pictures of my outfit all the item. I enjoyed chronicling my outfits and checking back on my photos for inspiration. During this time, I lived at home and my mom was able to take full length photos of me. Thankfully the days of living at home are over (love ya mom!) and now I live with roommates. Although I am sure they would be happy to take my picture, it is just awkward. So for now, I am going to try to take weekly outfit photos in my gigantic mirror from Ikea. It's not great, but I guess I can't be picky. How do you other fashion bloggers photograph your outfits?

Funny story about this outfit, I had just gotten this sweater over the weekend and wore it to work that Monday. Apparently- 2 other girls also had the same idea. I guess it's a good sweater!

holiday party time

It's that time of the season, when there is a lot of parties and events going on. During this time it can be hard to find appropriate outfits, especially for work gatherings. It's almost always a safe bet to pull out the little black dress, but below I have also included other classy holiday looks.

This look is a little more modern and young, but a faux leather skirt is a great investment and can be toned down with a classic sweater.

A basic shirt dress paired with a printed jacket is the perfect combination. You can be more creative in terms of accessories because the dress is so simple.

Faux leather leggings are great because they are comfortable and fashionable at the same time. Since they make a statement, let your legs do the talking & pair them with a basic flowy blouse.

Plaid done with right away can be amazing. This is a classic holiday look that would work for any occasion.

Since the little black dress is so simple, you can amplify the look with accessories. A faux fur jacket is a  great way to add a little bit of glamour.

What look is your favorite?

thanksgiving nails

You can never go wrong with a glitter gradient, which is actually what I did for these Thanksgiving nails. In my opinion glitter gradients are actually some of the easiest nail designs to do. I also wanted to add some actually Thanksgiving relevance, so I added feather designs. Feathers aren't actually that hard to do either, they just require a little patience :)
